2009 Gibson 70’s Explorer – Heritage Cherry
Excellent 2009 Gibson Explorer in non-original hard case. Guitar is in stock condition, a beautiful better than player grade example. Light playwear, one of two marks in the finish and some hazing of the nitro at the edges. Rosewood fretboard is excellent, very clean frets. As always, there are more and better pictures on my own site, deegearlocker dotcom, than Reverb will host. Weighs 7lb and 14oz. Comes with not much besides a receipt from Ishibashi Music in Tokyo, Japan, so the guitar has been places. They generally only accept excellent instruments, or Gibson knows they will reject any less than stellar examples, so the net result is that they have a reputation of being the source of many fine guitars, spot on. Set up on 10’s, the case is an older style with the satin shroud, looks nice in there.
Condition is an easy 8/10.
Condition
Light play wear, one or two shallow marks in the nitro clear coat, a couple of dings on the sides and horns, but actually a very clean example if you know what happens to the horns on V’s and Explorers generally. They tend to pick up damage at the very tips and extremities. This one is clean in that regard, very clean by the standards. There’s a tiny nick out of the front of the headstock, see the pictures, ask for more. The nitro has developed a slight hazing at the edges where the arm would rest, hard to see, only visible from certain angles.
