1990 Fender Vintage Reissue 62 Stratocaster – Surf Green

A proper vintage Vintage Reissue from Fender in Corona, California. A 1962 Vintage Reissue from the factory in Surf Green with dark, rich rosewood fretboard, rare and beautiful. Slab rosewood fretboard, nitro Surf Green finish in excellent condition, aging nicely. Great condition with a clean neck and good frets, fantastic looking and feeling, this is one amazing instrument. It weighs 7lbs and 13oz, has a beautiful maple neck with a deep, dark rosewood fretboard and bright pale clay dot inlays and 21 frets. The 3-way was swapped for a 5-way switch, a common mod at the time and in the day and to this day. The original 3 way is included, it looks clean, time capsule condition. Check out the case candy that comes with this thing, including the hangtag that dates it to 9-22-90, and marks it out as a rare and interesting thing in near time-capsule condition. Born on Bilbo’s birthday, I’m calling it Gollum Green. Comes in the original hardcase. Weighs a hair over 8lb and is setup on 10’s.

Condition is 9/10 for lacquer aging (gracefully), one or two flaws and light fret wear, yellowing, see below.

Condition 

Lightest play wear, excellent, aesthetically and sonically. It looks and feels amazing, aging nicely with some yellowing of the nitro lacquer, one or two small flaws in the finish, but overall it’s amazingly clean considering the age of the instrument. Light fret wear on the G and B strings in the first couple of frets, no buzzing or dead spots on the fingerboard. Comes with all tags, certificates, everything from the factory included in the case.
