1986-87 Fujijen Fender MIJ Standard Stratocaster STD-57
Great looking and playing mid eighties Japanese Fender Stratocaster 57′ Standard. Stock except for the pickguard and back shield, the original is single ply white and warped, included with guitar. This thing rips, made by Fujijen, one of Japan’s premiere builders responsible for high end Ibanez and Greco dating back to the lawsuit era. No wonder Fender was worried. Instead of suing them as Gibson did, Fender hired them instead and started selling them as theirs. Fender Japan are recognized as superior instruments when a lot of companies were cutting corners, these things still stand out as just better. Comes in a non-branded hard case.
Condition is a little shy of 8/10 for light wear and non-original plastics.
Condition
Light play wear, no damage, no chips, dings, knocks to speak of. It’s black, if you look it’s covered in swirls and lacquer sink lines and pick marks, there is a long scratch that extends upwards from the pickguard to the edge of the body. There are a few dull spots in the finish, there are some tiny dings. It’s a black guitar and if you’re looking for flaws you can find them, but it presents as very clean indeed, the tortoise shell pickguard replaces the original white one which is warped, looks better IMO, the original is of course included. Neck is great, truss rod words, frets are clean and have years of hard use left. All the hardware and electronics are factory stock. Tremolo arm is not original.
